Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using sarahlawsonimports.com or placing an order with us.

1. About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "the customer") and Sarah Lawson Imports ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the website at https://sarahlawsonimports.com ("the Website"). By browsing the Website, creating an account, or placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

These Terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, our Shipping Policy and any product- or campaign-specific terms displayed at the point of purchase. In the event of a conflict, the terms displayed at the point of purchase prevail for that specific order.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they were most recently changed. Continued use of the Website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility & accounts

2.1 Who can buy from us

You must be at least 18 years old (or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian) and capable of entering a binding contract under Ghanaian law to place an order. By ordering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2.2 Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details (email and password) confidential. Any activity carried out from your account is treated as carried out by you. Notify us immediately at info@sarahlawsonimports.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when creating an account or placing an order, and to keep that information up to date.

3. Acceptable use of the Website

You may use the Website for personal, lawful shopping only. You agree not to:

  • Breach any law of Ghana or any other applicable jurisdiction;
  • Submit malware, scripts, scrapers, or anything that could damage, overload or interfere with the Website;
  • Try to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other users' accounts, or our hosting infrastructure;
  • Use the Website to commit fraud, including chargeback fraud, money laundering, or any criminal activity;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age or affiliation;
  • Resell our products in a way that misleads customers about origin, authenticity, warranty or pricing.

We may suspend or close any account that breaches this section, and we may report suspected criminal activity to the Ghana Police Service or other authorities.

4. Products & pricing

4.1 Product information

We work hard to describe our products accurately, including images, sizes, materials and features. Slight variations in colour, dimension or finish may occur because items are sourced directly from manufacturers and because device screens render colours differently. These minor variations are not defects.

4.2 Prices

All prices on the Website are in Ghana Cedis (GHS) and include any VAT or NHIL applicable in Ghana, unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges, where applicable, are shown at checkout and are added to the order total before payment.

We may change prices, run promotions, set quantity limits, or discontinue a product at any time. Discount codes have their own terms displayed when issued (validity period, minimum spend, single-use, excluded items, etc.).

If a product is shown at an obviously incorrect price (for example, a typing error), we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund, even if you have already paid. We will contact you before doing so and offer the option to re-purchase at the corrected price.

4.3 Stock & availability

Listing a product on the Website is an invitation to treat, not a guarantee of availability. If a product becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you to offer a replacement, a back-order timeline, or a full refund.

4.4 Porials Pitch products

Some products are listed under our "Porials Pitch" exhibition. Where these are sold to the general public, the standard Terms apply. Where they are listed for exhibition, viewing or pre-order only, this is clearly indicated on the product page and the listed price is for reference only — no order is created until we confirm purchasability with you in writing.

5. Orders & payment

5.1 How an order is formed

When you submit an order through checkout, you are making an offer to buy the listed products at the listed price. A binding contract is formed only when we confirm acceptance of your order, which happens at the moment we send you the order confirmation message (SMS or email).

We may decline or cancel an order, in whole or in part, where:

  • The product is unavailable or wrongly priced;
  • We suspect fraud, an unauthorised payment, or money laundering;
  • The delivery address is incomplete, outside our serviceable area, or in a security-restricted location;
  • You do not meet eligibility requirements for the product;
  • A previous order from the same account/phone has unresolved chargebacks, fraud reports or unpaid balances.

If we cancel an accepted order, we will refund you in full to the original payment method.

5.2 Payment methods

We accept payment via our payment processor, Moolre:

  • Mobile Money (MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash / Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money)
  • Visa and Mastercard debit/credit cards
  • Bank transfer (selected cases)

Card and Mobile Money details are processed by Moolre and never touch our servers. By submitting payment information you confirm that you are the authorised user of the payment instrument and that funds are available. Orders are dispatched only after payment is fully received and cleared.

5.3 Failed or pending payments

If your payment fails, times out, or is reversed by your bank or Mobile Money provider, your order will remain in a "pending payment" state. We will send you a payment link by SMS so you can complete the order. Pending orders are automatically cancelled if not paid within 7 days, and any reserved stock is released.

5.4 Changing or cancelling an order

You may request a change or cancellation by contacting us at info@sarahlawsonimports.com or +233 54 601 4734. We can usually accommodate changes only before the order is dispatched. Once an order has been packaged or handed over to the rider, changes are no longer guaranteed and may be treated as a return.

6. Delivery & risk

We deliver across Ghana. Delivery options, timelines and serviceable zones are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Delivery charges are not collected at checkout. The amount you pay on the website covers your items only. After your order is confirmed, we (or our rider/courier) will contact you to confirm your address and quote the delivery fee for your specific location and order. You then settle the delivery fee directly with the rider on delivery, or with our team if you arrange a special courier. Store-pickup orders incur no delivery fee.

You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address, a reachable phone number, and someone available to receive the order. Failed deliveries due to wrong addresses, unreachable phones, or refused acceptance may attract a re-delivery fee or, after two failed attempts, may be returned to us and refunded for the items, less any costs already incurred.

Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon successful delivery (or, for store pickup, upon collection). For doorstep delivery, you should inspect the package in front of the rider where practical and report any visible damage immediately so it can be recorded with the courier.

7. Returns, exchanges & refunds

We want you to be happy with what you bought. You may request a return or exchange within 24 hours of delivery, subject to the eligibility criteria below.

7.1 Eligible for return

  • Item is unused, in original condition, and in its original packaging with all tags;
  • You have proof of purchase (order number, SMS confirmation or receipt);
  • The item is faulty, damaged on arrival, or significantly different from what was advertised.

7.2 Not eligible for return

  • Used, washed, worn, or altered items;
  • Intimate apparel, undergarments, swimwear, earrings and similar hygiene-sensitive items once the seal/packaging is broken;
  • Cosmetics, perfumes and personal-care items that have been opened or used;
  • Items marked "Final Sale", "Clearance", or sold as part of a bundle/deal at a heavily discounted price;
  • Items damaged by the customer after delivery (drops, water damage, modifications).

7.3 How to start a return

Contact us within 24 hours of delivery via info@sarahlawsonimports.com, WhatsApp on +233 54 601 4734, or through your account's order page. Include your order number, the item(s) you want to return, and the reason. We will reply with return instructions, including where to drop off the package or how to arrange pickup.

Return shipping costs are paid by the customer for change-of-mind returns. We cover return shipping where the item is faulty, damaged on arrival, or wrong.

7.4 Refunds

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will issue your refund to the original payment method within 5–7 business days. Mobile Money refunds normally settle the same day; card refunds may take additional time depending on your bank. Because delivery fees are paid separately to the rider, they are not part of the website refund. Where the return is due to our error (faulty item, wrong item, or damaged on arrival) and you incurred a delivery fee, we will reimburse that fee on confirmation of payment.

8. Warranty & quality

We warrant that products are of merchantable quality and fit for ordinary use, in line with the Sale of Goods Act, 1962 (Act 137) of Ghana. Where a manufacturer's warranty is provided with the product (for example, electronics), the manufacturer's terms apply for that warranty period, in addition to our 24 hours returns window.

Outside the 24 hours window, we will help you make any claim under the manufacturer's warranty, but we are not the warrantor for that period.

9. Intellectual property

All content on the Website — including the Sarah Lawson Imports name, logo, graphics, photographs, product descriptions, page layouts, code and the overall look and feel — is owned by Sarah Lawson Imports or our licensors and is protected by Ghanaian and international copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws.

You may view, download and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy, redistribute, scrape, republish, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our prior written permission.

Third-party brand names, product names, and trademarks shown on the Website are the property of their respective owners and are used purely to identify products we resell.

10. User content & reviews

You may submit reviews, photos, ratings, comments and other content ("User Content") to the Website. By doing so, you grant Sarah Lawson Imports a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, edit, and display that content in connection with our products, marketing and operations.

You confirm that User Content you submit:

  • Is your own work, or you have the right to share it;
  • Does not infringe anyone's privacy, intellectual property or other rights;
  • Is honest, accurate and reflects your genuine experience;
  • Is not defamatory, hateful, obscene, harassing, threatening or otherwise unlawful.

We may remove, refuse to publish, or edit any User Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or is otherwise unsuitable.

11. Communications & SMS

When you place an order, you agree to receive operational messages from us by SMS, WhatsApp, email and in-app notifications, including order confirmations, payment links, delivery updates, and after-sales follow-ups. These messages are part of fulfilling your order and cannot be opted out of without cancelling the order.

Marketing messages (promotions, new-product announcements) are separate, sent only with your consent, and you may opt out at any time by replying to the message or contacting info@sarahlawsonimports.com.

12. Third-party services

The Website relies on third-party services to operate, including Moolre (payments), our hosting and database providers, SMS gateways, courier and dispatch partners, and analytics providers. These third parties have their own terms and privacy policies. We choose them carefully, but we are not responsible for their independent acts or omissions beyond what is required by law.

13. Disclaimers

The Website is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, free of viruses, or always compatible with every device or browser. We may suspend the Website temporarily for maintenance, upgrades or security reasons.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Ghanaian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sarah Lawson Imports shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss, including (without limit) loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or wasted expenditure, arising from or related to:

  • Your use of (or inability to use) the Website or any product;
  • Delays, failures or errors in delivery caused by couriers, weather, traffic, security incidents or other matters outside our reasonable control;
  • Outages, downtime or data loss affecting third-party providers we depend on;
  • Unauthorised access to your account caused by your sharing of credentials.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of an order will not exceed the total amount you paid for the affected order.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sarah Lawson Imports, its directors, employees, contractors and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Website, your User Content, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

16. Force majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including (without limit) acts of God, fire, flood, epidemic or pandemic, civil unrest, strike, government action, power or telecoms failure, currency restrictions, port or customs delays, or supplier failures. We will notify you and resume performance as soon as reasonably possible.

17. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of the Website, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, including the Sale of Goods Act, 1962 (Act 137) and the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Before starting any legal action, you agree to first contact us at info@sarahlawsonimports.com to try to resolve the matter in good faith. If we cannot resolve it within thirty (30) days, the courts of Republic of Ghana shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

18. General

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Shipping Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Website and your purchases.

Severability. If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these Terms on any one occasion, that does not mean we waive that right in future.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights to any successor business, group company or buyer of our assets.
